 | | LG LHB535 review and special offers. |
The LG LHB535 is one of the popular 2010 line of Blu-ray 5.1 home theatre systems that LG has produced. Not only does it have an outstanding set of features but also comes at a fair price. However it has a minor short coming in that it produces sound that is a bit low and lacks sharpness.
It is a thin box that contains a network Blu-ray player and a receiver inside it. There are several speakers connected to it. These include four speakers of the same type which are used to serve as the surround system, a center speaker and a small sized subwoofer. It has a compact design which is stylish and inconspicuous which makes it ideal for the living room.
The LG LHB535 was among the first home theatres to be manufactured in 2010, yet it has many outstanding features that other similar home theatres do not have. Some of the features include HDMI inputs and input slots for a cable box and a game console. It also has inbuilt Wi-Fi so one does not need to buy an additional external Wi-Fi adapter like other home theatre systems.
There is also an iPod dock on the main unit. It flips down when you apply some pressure at the center of the front panel. On the right, there are six playback buttons situated just below the knob that controls the volume. There is a flap which conceals a line-in, USB port and a tray where you load the Blu-ray drive. It is located on the left side of the main system unit. Judging by the amount of functionality packed in it we can say it is a compact system.
The remote system operates well and is fits well in ones hands. Some of the controls on it include the volume control, playback buttons and speaker configuration buttons among others. There are no direct input access controls on the remote however one can easily control the inputs by using the graphical user interface.
The graphical user interface (GUI) is used to control all functionalities of the system. Everything ranging from input selection to iPod playback has visual representations. It is therefore a welcoming site to every new user. The functions that are not easily accessible via the remote can be accessed via this user interface. Sometimes the animated floating cubes on the menus can make the interface seem sluggish, but it is not that slow.
Setting up the system is not difficult. The cables that connect the speakers are color coded. Therefore it is easy to identify what slot to plug them into. The cables also have clips on their ends which makes it easy to connect them to the main unit. You can then plug in the power cable and connect a HDMI cable to your HDTV then you can enjoy watching your movie.
You can also plug your cable box into one of the HDMI inputs, a feature that most all in one systems do not have. This feature allows you to enjoy better audio from the home theatre system instead of listening to the low quality audio from the TV speakers. It also auto configures itself so that you do not have to manually change the inputs on the TV. With all the features it has together with a well designed graphical user interface the LG LHB535 offers you with the best home entertainment you can ever want. |
